Place of Origin

Brad Goldberg

Place of Origin by Brad Goldberg, is a site specific earth work that is a fusion between sculpture, landscape and the built environment. The remnant walls recall more than 20 businesses that occupied this riverside site on Washington Street from the origins of the city in 1885 to the 1990s. This site was the cradle of job creation for West Bend. It is now part of the city park system and the Riverfront Parkway. Goldberg has worked on a variety of projects in Europe, Japan, and the United States. He received his BFA in sculpture and a baccalaureate in landscape architecture from Rhode Island School of Design in 1978 and now resides in Dallas. The Ziegler family donated the piece in 2006.
